I resonate with this quote above and found it to be true. Think of the last time you celebrated a win – maybe a personal goal you met, maybe a raise, promotion, job well done? What did you do? Where were you? How did you celebrate?
Did you have fun celebrating?
Maybe you’re not a big celebrator – that’s perfectly A-OK.
I’m celebrating a major milestone in my coaching business. I earned my Professional Certified Coach (PCC) from the International Coaching Federation (ICF). I’ll share more below about this journey. Back to celebration & resiliency
Celebrating your wins in a resiliency skill and one that can have huge benefits – personally and professionally.
Here are some of the benefits of celebrating:
- Reduces & Releases Stress
- Shows appreciation
- Increases sense of well-being
- Improves self-worth
- Provides motivation
- Reduced burnout by a moment of relaxation
- Releases dopamine = happiness
- Strengthens teams
- Builds loyalty
- Improves overall productivity
If you’re not into or incorporating celebrating, I hope the benefits above may help you engage in some sot of celebration.
One of my favorite client prep questions is to ask what wins and/or accomplishments they've had since we last met.
By taking time to make a list of wins this allows the client to savor their accomplishments and acknowledge them. They are invited to share in our session and I get to celebrate with them. It may be a simple, "wow, way to go", I often high five them virtually, acknowledge them with a "Yay, you did it."
What to celebrate?
- Celebrating wins in life & work
- Set Mini goals you get to celebrate the mini wins
- Small wins - from a just manageable difficulty level
- Progress in meaningful work
- Key word – meaningful work
How to celebrate? Some ideas for celebrating
- Acknowledge your progress
- Keep a list of your progress
- Do something you love
- High five
- Happy Dance
- Play some music
- Watch a fun video
- Share your win with others – social media, email, or in person
- Treat yourself – doesn’t have to be big or food
- Take some time off – plan it into your goals
- Take a moment for gratitude – thank others who helped you
Sharing with others – my example – I shared on social media my PCC accomplishment.
Now, I'm sharing with you my readers and supporters - this is my announcement.
Celebrating & proud to have earned my next level of coaching credential, PCC. Whoo Hoo!
This requires 500+ coaching hours, 160+ of coach specific training, 20hrs. of mentor and supervision.
