I wrote these words in January of 2019, "Resilient Goals – I embrace them and keep on learning about them. That’s what I do over and over and over again. Fall down, get up, bounce back- repeat. I’ve discovered my face down moments are shorter and bouncing back is quicker.“
Who knew that in a little over a year, I’d need these skills to survive and then thrive in 2020.

8 quick tips to bounce back resiliently
1. Give yourself some time to integrate the new reality and what happened.
a.Just be with it.
b.Acknowledge this happened and I feel….
2. Take a few moments to consider what happened?
a.Note the facts of the event.
b.Was it all of a sudden or a trail of small things that lead up to this?
3. What control do I have?
a.Maybe a lot of control
b.Maybe very little control
4.What choices do I have?
a. What can I choose to do or not do?
5. What is the next step?
a. Small step – one step at a time
6.What does moving forward – one step at a time look like for me?
7.What obstacles to my success might get in the way?
8.How might I put plans A, B, C into place to mitigate those obstacles?
Steps 1- 5 are to bounce back and survive and move towards thriving. Steps 6 - 8 are to move towards thriving and to help mitigate that rug ripped out feeling – building more resiliency into your life.
Not all of life’s challenges and setbacks can be bounced back from quickly. Some take more time to process, integrate and move through. However, with knowledge and experience, working on and with resiliency you can bounce back and often quicker than you had before.
